4. Ada Wong vs Leon Kennedy
In Resident Evil 2, rookie police officer Leon Scott Kennedy falls for a damsel in distress named Ada Wong—then watches her die, right after learning she was actually a double agent working for the enemy. The story could have ended there, but Capcom had other plans and thus begins the star-crossed love story turned rivalry between these two agents. In Resident Evil 4, she comes back in all of her glory explaining her death was a ruse, betraying Leon once more while simultaneously saving his hide more than once. Most recently in Resident Evil 6, she returns again, this time saving Leon’s life before vanishing again.
