#5 Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Kazooie is another iconic video game franchise from the Nintendo 64 days. Developed under Rare, the first installment has our main protagonist turned into a washing machine. This is simply a joke and players turn back to normal shortly after. However, if you complete all of the Bottles’ Bonus Challenges then gamers would unlock a cheat code that would allow players to turn into a washing machine for the entire game. You won’t find any real mechanics changed, though there are a few limitations such as not being able to hold items and your attack range is shortened, but for the most part, gamers could freely roam around oddly enough as a standard washing machine.
#4 Silent Hill 3
The Silent Hill series is incredible and full of terrifying narrative journeys. You have to really enjoy survival horror titles to go through some of these video games, but when the third main installment released, there was an interesting little cheat code tucked inside. If players use the Konami code, which we listed above in our Assassin’s Creed III point, then you will find one character in their underwear. The P.I. known as Douglas Cartland, will go through the game in his boxers. This is probably as lighthearted as any Silent Hill game will ever get.
#3 Grand Theft Auto III
Grand Theft Auto III was a big leap for the franchise as it took the top-down world and changed it completely to a new exciting world. Players went through the mean streets of Liberty City in third-person and while the missions and campaign can be fun, most would turn to wreak havoc on the city along with those that dwell within it. One cheat code would change that up and turn all of the pedestrians into mindless killing machines. Not only can players activate a cheat code that would cause pedestrians to start rioting, but another cheat code would allow everyone to carry a weapon causing the city to be a complete war zone.
#2 Age of Empires
The Age of Empires is a historical real-time strategy title where players maintain and run a nation. Released back in 1997 the game attempts to keep the world traditional to life over the years but that can be altered through the Bigdaddy code input. When players input the code, the game would spawn a vehicle equipped with a strong weapon allowing players to quickly overtake the world.
#1 Mortal Kombat
This is actually a pretty interesting discovery for the Mortal Kombat fan base. However, after close to decades of the game being released, a new cheat code was discovered. While it may not be as wacky as the others, Mortal Kombat fans would be able to access a debug menu which gives access to different fatality demos, diagnostic tests, to even a “hello” message from Ed Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat.
