PS4 Role Playing Games List

June 12, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

RPGs are no longer something you do in your basement. They’re games you can play in your living room, thanks to devices like the PlayStation 4.

ps4 role playing games

This is a complete list of role-playing games (RPGs) for the PlayStation 4. These titles feature role-playing elements to various degrees such as stats, equipment, and strong facets of storytelling and character development. Titles such as those from BioWare's Dragon Age series and Blizzard's action RPG series of Diablo games are included in this list of games.

Though once a genre of its own, role-playing elements have become increasingly common in video games over the years. Due to the popularity of BioWare titles and action RPGs like Diablo, many other games, including first person shooters and even racing games, have begun to sport features originally unique to RPGs. These titles will not be contained within the following list unless they're explicitly RPGs.

Name Description Release Date Rating
Diablo 3

The fantasy/horror action RPG from Blizzard maintains the core elements of its predecessors. The entire game has been revamped for the PS3 and PS4's control scheme. Everything from the controls, character menus, and inventory management has been overhauled for the console.

Deep Down

The game takes place from the first person perspective, sometimes shifting to the third. The player takes on the role of an adventurer or soldier who delves deep into a dragon's lair in order to slay it. It looks a whole lot better than anything Skyrim can muster, with the character reacting to the dragon's fiery breath in a "realistic" manner.
