Capcom has announced that two new free DLC items will be available for Resident Evil 6 soon. These will be the No Hope difficulty mode which was revealed to be partly on the disc itself, and a co-op partner for Ada Wong's campaign.
This same title update will also make Ada's campaign available from the start. Currently, players must complete all three of the primary campaigns to unlock this bonus mission. After the update, you'll be able to access Ada's story without having to finish any of the main scenarios.
Lastly, Capcom has also issued a clarification regarding the data found on Resident Evil 6's disc.

Now, the clarification: some data of this update is on the disc, but said data is incomplete and requires the actual download to access. But again, free. Mercenaries costumes are residentevil.net unlocks. Simply register for the site and start earning RE points for those goodies.
Future paid DLC – like the multiplayer modes we revealed a while ago – is not on the disc. We said as much a month ago, but that point may have been lost in the shuffle.
Well, there you go. Any on-disc stuff is free and paid DLC is not on disc. There's still no release date for this title update though, but we'll keep everyone posted once it's available.
