Borderlands 2 “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty” DLC Outed in Update

October 10, 2012 by Alex Co

Borderlands 2’s next major expansion has its details leaked via the Mechromancer class update. Read on for details.

Last night's update for the Mechromancer class for Borderlands 2 didn't just give players access to the new class. In addition to that, the title update also brought in new Trophies for the game and it's for "Captain Scarlett and Her Captain's Booty."

There are three Trophies included with the DLC and they are (via PS3Trophies):

  • Gadabout – Discovered all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate's Booty areas. (Bronze)
  • Completionist – Completed all Pirate's Booty side missions. (Silver)
  • Treasure Hunter – Completed the mission "X Marks the Spot." (Gold)

If that's not enough, fans over on Gearbox's official forums have also uncovered details regarding this pirate romp through the PC version's source files. Here's a brief description of the upcoming DLC.

Legends speak of Captain Blade's Lost Treasure of the Sands. Of a prize so great, that men would turn the sands red in pursuit of it. Of a pirate queen, courageous and deadly, who would stop at nothing to find it. Of a monstrous Leviathan. Of the Vault Hunters who journeyed to the desert town of Oasis, not knowing the horrors that would befall them.

Lastly, this new expansion seems to contain new heads for each class, new weapons, levels and even bosses.

Keep in mind that none of this has been confirmed or announced by Gearbox so far. We will, of course, update the situation once they do.

If I had to wager a guess, Captain Scarlett and Her Captain's Booty is most likely the first DLC for the game which is part of Borderlands 2's season pass. While this pirate DLC has no price yet, Borderlands 2's season pass can be bought for $29.99 and will include four expansions for the game.

So, for those who already finished everything Pandora has to offer, are you ready to take on the high seas and be a pirate?

Thanks, Shacknews
