Angry Birds: Star Wars gets release date

October 8, 2012 by Julie Horup

The Force is strong in this one, etc.

Rovio has announced a November 8 release for Angry Birds: Star Wars according to USA Today. The game is set to hit iOS, Android and computers.

Yeah, no, please don't say anything about The Force being strong in this one, etc.

Apparently the birds aren't just dressed as characters from the movies, but instead have similar personalities.

"They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters," said Lucasfilm's vice president of licensing and consumer products, Paul Southern. "They are characters in their own right".

Angry Birds: Star Wars will use the same gravitational physics as Angry Birds Space, which let you throw the red bird around as Luke Skywalker, and you'll get to visit planets like Tatooine and Hoth.

Obviously the pigs are led by Darth Vader, but you also get to meet Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
