Crysis 3 Multiplayer Footage Shows Hunter Game Mode in Action

October 2, 2012 by Alex Co

Crysis 3’s mutliplayer has an all-new mode called Hunter Mode! See what it is by watching the video, there’s new details concerning the multiplayer, too!

One of the games I surprisingly enjoyed was Crysis 2's multiplayer. It felt a bit like Call of Duty, but the Nanosuit made the Perks and whatnot, a bit more easier to swallow, and its killstreak rewards weren't annoying in anyway.

Now in Crysis 3, Crytek is introducing an all-new mode for multiplayer called Hunter Mode. In the video below (courtesy of VG247), Associate Producer Fasahat Salim talks a bit about Hunter Mode, as well as some of the adjustments they made in mutliplayer.

Hunter Mode will have two Hunters going against four CELL operatives. What makes this interesting is that the Hunters will have the full benefits of the Nanosuit to stay invisible all the time, while the CELL agents will only have a pistol and an EMP grenade at their disposal — though, of course, they will have the benefit of the numbers when it comes to their team's player count.

In addition to the Hunter Mode footage, we also get to see a few moments of Crash Site, which was also a mode in Crysis 2. This mode is reminiscent of Conquest in Battlefield, or Domination in Call of Duty. However, one big difference is the capture point changes. In Crysis 3, Crytek is making it more crazy by adding alien weapons scattered throughout the map. These weapons won't be available in your standard load-out and will be a game-changer once you see 'em in action.

Also of note, remember in Crysis 2 that your skills shared a Power meter that depletes whenever you activate any power or by simply running? In Crysis 3, this won't be the case as Crytek is implementing different meters for each. There will be an Armor meter that's separate from the Stealth meter; and even the running has been tweaked, too. Now running won't deplete your meter and can be used infinitely as well.

These adjustments should make Crysis 3's multiplayer just a tad more frantic, and with a Nanosuit armor, that's certainly a welcome change.

Crysis 3 is slated to hit in February 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Anyone excited to get their Nanosuit back on for Crysis 3 or will you still be playing Black Ops 2 or Medal of Honor Warfighter then?
