Hitman: Absolution Gets an 18-Minute Video Showcasing “Contracts Mode”

September 28, 2012 by Alex Co

IO Interactive has just released a new video for Hitman: Absolution and it shows 18-minutes of Contracts Mode gameplay.

UPDATE: Embedded the full 18-minute video! Watch and enjoy!

Hitman: Absolution won't have your standard multiplayer fare; instead, it will have a standalone multiplayer section called "Contracts Mode" but won't have you killing your online buddies.

In Contracts Mode, players will be able to build levels and set targets for their friends to beat. It might not be your usual adrenaline-pumping round of Team Deathmatch, but you do get the satisfaction of beating your friends' time at their own Contracts they designed.

In the trailer, IO Interactive's Game Director Tore Blystad and Community Team rep Travis Barbour do a running commentary of one of the hits in Contracts Mode. In the gameplay itself, Agent 47 is shown in one of the game's earliest trailers. He's running from the cops, but in this mode, his target is the sergeant of the police force.

What's interesting here is you're given the option of killing your enemies or just subduing them. I gather this is for those Hitmen with a heart of gold, no?

On top of the "hit," there's also added conditions that when met, will net the player extra cash. In the trailer, the condition is not to be seen…which the player does to great effect. I just love that Agent 47 walks casually out as he was done making the hit. Also of note, even if you make the hit, that doesn't mean the Contract is fulfilled. You'll also need to escape before you can book it.

In part two, IO Interactive will explain how Contracts are made and all the other details. We'll have that video up as soon as it's available.

Hitman: Absoluton will ship on November 20 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
