There are a number of films in the works that are being adapted from popular video game releases. Recently, the limelight was focused on the Uncharted film which after several false reports from the scriptwriter, Naughty Dog cleared the air and revealed they have never read the official film script or gave their approval on the matter.
Now as we move away from the Uncharted film, we now have new information regarding the Sleeping Dogs film. It’s been revealed through a report on Deadline that Donnie Yen, famous for the Ip Man film franchise, will be taking on the lead role for the Sleeping Dogs film.
While we are waiting for more details to release regarding the upcoming film, we understand that Donnie Yen will be taking on the role of an undercover police officer that is attempting to take down various local Triads.
Because of his work on Ip Man and knowledge behind fight choreography, we can expect a ton of fast-paced action sequences similar to the video game release. Again, little information has been unveiled for the film at the moment, it’s not even certain as to if we are getting a more direct adaptation of Sleeping Dogs or if it will be loosely based with a focus on a different overall story.
