Square Enix has released a trailer for Kingdom Hearts' upcoming HD remake for the PS3. If you've played the original back in the PS2 era, then you know what to expect. If not, the game basically melds Square Enix's franchises with that of Disney to create an all-star cast RPG.
While the trailer below is in Japanese, you don't really need to understand it to appreciate the upgraded visuals.
The trailer doesn't mention it, but the HD ReMIX won't just contain Kingdom Hearts 1. It will be a compilation that will include Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, cinematic scenes from Kongdom Hearts 358/2 Days and all in HD with added Trophy support, too.
Now, on to the bad news. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX has been confirmed for a 2013 release for the PS3 in Japan…only in Japan for the moment though. Of course, given how popular the franchise is out West, it wouldn't surprise me to see Western release of the compliation.
For fans of the series, this compilation will have to do until Square Enix releases Kingdom Hearts 3 — whenever that might be.
