The folks at Mojang have put together the latest snapshot or development build of Minecraft which adds quite a bit of changes to the existing game. For those wondering, it’s version 12w38b.
The additions include a host of new sound effects (including a new leveling up sound), item drops for the newly added Witch mob which include all the sort of things you’d expect a witch to carry, like a stick, miscellaneous potion ingredients, and a small chance to drop the stuff they’re holding when they die.
Witches have additionally been tweaked so they can’t hurt themselves with spells intended to affect players, and we’re told that they can “cook a mean soufflé”, whatever that means. Witches’ brew and all that.
Mojang warns that the release is “for experienced chefs only!”
“It may disintegrate your cake or mess it up badly otherwise. Only cook and eat this if you know what to do with the crumbs that come when you're finished with it!”
So be warned. It’s not something you’ll want to trifle with unless you’ve some experience in modding the game or messing around with development builds. As always, be sure to keep a backup of your world before installing this update.
