Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Is the Most Successful Fan Funded Game Since 2015

February 25, 2017 by Kris Kittie

The game has been funded to 400% upon completion of the campaign.

Obsidian Entertainment’s Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has reached the $4M USD mark on www.Fig.com making it the most successfully funded video game on the platform, and the first game to cross the $4M threshold since 2015. In addition, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is the most successful video game to take advantage of Reg A+ (investing in Fig Game Shares – Pillars of Eternity 2, Fig Publishing Inc.)

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is inspired by classic titles such as Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Icewind Dale, and Planetscape: Torment, the game improves upon the already rich narrative, beautiful environments, and intricate, tactical combat that made the original a critical sensation. With Deadfire, Obsidian will take players on another amazing journey to the world of Eora, this time to the vast and uncharted Deadfire Archipelago, where they will fight for their very souls as they hunt down a god.

The game was funded to an impressive 400% of its goal on Fig with 33,614 backers who pledged towards the campaign. The campaign is currently closed, but you can still pledge through PayPal if you would like to do so. For those waiting to pay by PayPal, the Backer Portal is now live at eternity.obsidian.net/backer. Please note that if you have already pledged on Fig your pledge has not been moved over to our portal yet.
