Prototype Devs Tweet “They’re Still Here,” Studio Might Not Be Dead After All

September 19, 2012 by Alex Co

Radical Entertainment has just tweeted that they’re still here! Back from the dead? It sure seems like it.

Hot on the heels of the WipEout franchise's sudden re-emergence, it seems the franchise is not the only gaming entity getting its second-wind. Radical Entertainment, developers of the Prototype franchise for Activision, has also made a public comment that they, too, are not on their deathbed as previously reported.

In a tweet on the official Radical Entertainment account, the studio tweeted the following statement:

Just a quick note to our great fans and friends. The rumours of our closure have been greatly exaggerated – we're still here! More later.

For those not familiar with the situation, Activision closed the studio down last June due to Prototype 2's sales not living up to the publisher's expectations. While the publisher did keep a few staff around, it was mostly to help other studios with their projects. You can read more about that here.

Does this mean the studio will rise from the ashes to work on more Prototype games? Hopefully, we'll know more regarding their predicament in the coming days.

We've also emailed Activision for an official comment and will update the situation once we get anything back.

Would you want a third game in the Prototype franchise or would you want Radical to be another studio making Call of Duty games?

Thanks, TheSixthAxis
