A couple of weeks ago we learned that the iconic war film, Apocalypse Now was being turned into a video game adaptation. Since then, developer American Zoetrope managed to update fans on the process of the game and how they want the video game adaptation to turn out.
However, it seems like the game won’t reach its campaign goal as Apocalypse Now is now cancelled on Kickstarter. The project was announced three weeks ago and was asking for $900,000 for completion, however, the Apocalypse Now Kickstarter only managed to reach $173,599.
Due to the under performance of the campaign, developer America Zoetrope has moved its crowdfunding campaign to its own site — ApocolypseNow.com. American Zoetrope states that the new crowdfunding website will be a more engaging space for fans to get updates on the game.
“ApocalypseNow.com will be an engaging space where fans and backers can get the latest updates, communicate with the team making the game and continue to support the project through the entirety of the game’s development cycle. The team will rely on this dialogue with the community to help them to create an Apocalypse Now game worthy of the motion picture in every way.”
The video game adaptation of Apocalypse Now is scheduled to release sometime in 2020. Fund the project here.
