Danger Close has releasd a new Medal of Honor Warfighter trailer today and it doesn't focus on fireteams or anything from the multiplayer. Now, the focus is on single-player and the dangerous environments the Tier 1 Operators must navigate in order to take out their enemy.
Speaking of dangerous environments, in the trailer, Preacher and his crew are setting up shop in Basilan, Philippines. Now, if you didn't know, Basilan is notorious for being a hotbed of terrorist activities and is the home town of the Abu Sayyaf — a band of outlaws who have been fighting with the Philippine Army for more than a century now.
Not only do we see Basilan recreated faithfully by Danger Close, but we finally put a face to the enemy.
Before watching, I do want to remind you that there are minor spoilers abound but nothing you'll lose sleep over.
I might be a bit biased here since Medal of Honor 2010 was one of the few military single-player campaigns I liked, but what we see now looks to continue the drama and intimate nature the first Medal of Honor reboot brought to the table. Yes, the Tier 1 Operators take out a ton of enemies in the process but it didn't look like they were superheroes going up against mortal men — a fact most military FPS' tend to forget.
Will Warfighter's campaign be as sublime as its 2010 predecessor? We'll know for sure once Medal of Honor Warfighter ships in October 23 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
