Capcom's Lost Planet spin-off EX Troopers won't see a release outside Japan the publisher has confirmed.
This news was revealed by Capcom Corporate Officer and Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson in a post on the company's "Ask Capcom" official forums (via NintendoLife).
The announcement originated when a user commented on Svensson's recent comments that the Mega Man series has too many "sub series," and the poster used EX Troopers as an example that the game is a sub series of Lost Planet to counter his claim, to which Svensson replied:
No because EX Troopers isn't part of the LP series officially (thus the difference in name) nor are there plans to bring it Westward at this time.
Yep, Capcom is officially pulling its guns on trying to earn more money…what are the chances, no? For those uninformed about the spin-off, EX Troopers is based on Lost Planet's universe but has an entirely new cast and uses an anime visual motif compared to the main series.
EX Troopers is set for release on November 22 exclusively in Japan.
Anyone saddened by this news or you don't really care for the game at all given how Lost Planet 2 turned out?
