Being the head of Firaxis has its perks, including having one’s name plastered on the title of every game. Best known for his work on the Civilization series, Sid Meier won’t have his name attached to the title of the studio’s upcoming game, XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Instead, Sid Meier will make a cameo appearance in the game as a playable character. Fans caught a glimpse of the legendary designer in the E3 trailer of the game earlier this year.
The game’s lead developer Jake Solomon says that Meier won’t be the only game developer to appear in the game.
“We call them heroes,” said Solomon in a short interview with PC Gamer today. “We’ve only shown one, we’ve only shown Sid – and so yes there are some other heroes: friends of XCOM that may make an appearance if the player can find them. But we’re not going to reveal who they are yet. Somebody will find them probably in the first day!”
Who would you like to see in the upcoming XCOM? I for one would love to see Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto in the game as XCOM agents.
