2K Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, has announced that Gearbox's Borderlands 2 has broken all previous pre-order records in the UK.
Pre-orders have been, undoubtedly, helped by Borderlands 2's Premier Club, which promises access to the Mechromancer class at no additional cost.
Here's what Take-Two Interactive's UK Sales Director Dave Gould said in a statement (via MCV):
We're exceptionally happy with the level of support gamers have shown to Borderlands 2, and the pre-orders are reflecting what a beloved franchise this is. Orders are increasing week-on-week at a rate we've never before experienced for a 2K title. They are exceeding our already high expectations, there's huge momentum behind the game
Mind you, it's not like 2K's franchises are not heavy-hitters, either. Borderlands 2 managed to beat the likes of Civilization, BioShock, and Mafia to get the top spot.
Borderlands 2 is set for release on September 21 in the UK, while it's due on the 18th in the US.
Have you pre-ordered your copy yet? It seems like it could give the FPS genre the jolt it needs, no?
