Wasteland 2 In-Game Demo Showcases Camera Functions

September 6, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

A newly released video of Wasteland 2 shows off the game’s camera functions.

inXile’s Wasteland 2 is one of the few, huge game projects that was successfully funded on Kickstarter following the success of Double Fine’s Adventure. It’s been deep into development since getting funded, and has even acquired the programming and writing talents of Obsidian Entertainment to aid with the development.

Speaking at the recent Unite 2012 event, inXile’s Brian Fargo showed off a little of Wasteland 2 to the audience. In the video, he revealed the location first seen in the only in-game screenshot ever released of the game back in July this year.

The video showcases the game in its alpha state, with a fully working camera that can be zoomed in for players to get up close and personal with the characters, or zoomed out completely—into top-down mode for old school gamers.

Wasteland 2 is expected to be released for the PC and Mac in October 2013.
