Need for Speed: Most Wanted Kinect Functions Revealed

The upcoming Need for Speed game will offer special support for Kinect owners.

Criterion has announced today that Need for Speed: Most Wanted will offer Kinect-specific features for players on the Xbox 360. They won’t be mandatory for players to interact with the game, but anyone using a Kinect will be able to get some added value out of the game.

Instead of wading through the menus to customize your controls and hook up the nitrous oxide booster to one of your d-pad keys, players on the Kinect will be able to use their nitrous by saying the word “Nitrous” to activate it.

Likewise, You’ll be able to say “Mods, Nitrous, Burn Nitrous” to equip your car with the nitrous boost without doing so in the menus.

It’s a nice touch, but it might require some memorization for players to get used to the whole thing. You might be better off just scrolling through the game’s EasyDrive menu system.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is set for release on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 30. It’ll also be available on the Vita and other devices.
