Battlefield 3 Implementing Traditional Map Rotation Presets for Consoles

September 5, 2012 by Alex Co

DICE has now implemented a new “traditional” map rotation for Battlefield 3! Read on for details.

If you're like me, chances are you're getting ticked off choosing the right server to "stay" on without having to exit once you don't like the map or mode that's up next. While rented servers can alleviate this, what if you just want to play games where it's always Rush or Conquest?

Well, it seems DICE has finally figured out that players want this as they have now implemented a "traditional map rotation" presets on consoles. This was part of the massive patch deployed earlier in the day and is now live on both console platforms.

So, what can players expect? Here's the list for Conquest, Rush and even Armored Kill's pre-sets.

Conquest Classics

Live now on PS3 and 360

Map rotation:

  • Caspian Border
  • Operation Firestorm
  • Noshahr Canals
  • Wake Island
  • Gulf of Oman
  • Strike at Karkand
  • Sharqi Peninsula
  • Kharg Island

All-out Rush

Live now on PS3 and 360

Map rotation:

  • Operation Métro
  • Kharg Island
  • Grand Bazaar
  • Seine Crossing
  • Damavand Peak
  • Wake Island
  • Gulf of Oman
  • Strike at Karkand
  • Sharqi Peninsula

Armored Kill CQ Only

Armored Kill Rush Only

Tanks are Superior

At least now if you want to play Rush and just Rush, you have the option, no? I can't even count how many servers I joined where the current game was Conquest and for some reason the next match was a round of Team Deathmatch.

Armored Kill is now out for Battlefield 3 PS3 members, while PC and Xbox 360 BF3 Premium members will be able to download it on September 11.
