The latest firmware update for Sony's PlayStation Vita adds some much-awaited features to the handheld device, including improvements to its overall navigation, browser, and map service.
More importantly, Vita's 1.80 firmware adds support for PSOne titles, of which there are currently nine to choose from with more to come in the weeks ahead. Players can currently play upscaled versions of Final Fantasy VII, Arc the Lad, Twisted Metal 2, and Syphon Filter right now, and titles like the Resident Evil series and other Final Fantasy games are expected to make their way to the Vita before long.
Interestingly enough, if you own a PS3, you can use it to transfer games currently unlisted on the PS Vita store. Here's the full list of games via NeoGAF:

It's unknown why Sony decided to provide official access to such a small number of games on US accounts when European owners of the PS Vita have access to over 129 titles from the get go. As this workaround seems to work, we're not going to complain about it.
