Upgrade Nintendo Switch Space With a 2TB SD Card

January 15, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

Get an SD card ready if you want to upgrade your storage space.

So much information has been passed around regarding the Switch, it seems nearly every hour there is something new regarding the Console.

Now the newest announcement is that if users aim to keeping their games on their console and are worried about space, you will have the option of upgrading with a 2TB SD Card, similarly to how fans upgraded the Nintendo 3DS’s storage space.

The PS4 and Xbox One are just starting to offer the ability to have that kind of storage, so it’s clear Nintendo has been thinking about ways it can become competitive in this market.

Unfortunately, SD cards are no way a competitor to SATA hard drives with regard to speed so it will be interesting to see how efficiently this will be implemented by Nintendo.
