Borderlands 2 Looks Better On NVidia’s GeForce GTX

August 27, 2012 by Alex Co

Want to see Borderlands 2 maxed out on a PC, here ya go.

While most of the footage we've seen so far from Gearbox's upcoming RPG/shooter hybrid has been for consoles, NVIDIA has now released a trailer showing the game with all its bells and whistles maxed out.

Of course, with Borderlands 2 having its own unique artstyle and not even trying to look realistic, the overall textures themselves relatively look the same. What changes are the dust, explosions and even the cloth physics that stand out.

The PhysX tech on the GeForce GTX allows the game to depict millions of particles affected by a variety of physical effects, including gravity and vacuum. As the video depicts, cloth, metal, dirt, sparks, and liquid are affected by the environment. Liquid flows, and cloth can even be torn to shreds.

The video even shows the game running on a PC with and without a GeForce GTX. Understandably, the one without has muddier textures, colors are less vibrant and so much more. One good example shows a gravitational grenade of some sort thrown and we can see the tarp being pulled. If it's not with the GTX, the tarp doesn't even show on-screen.

Also worth noting is that NVIDIA is offering a free copy of Borderlands 2 for every purchase of a GTX 660 Ti sold at participating retailers and e-tailers. You can check it out here.

Borderlands 2 is set for release on September 18 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
