The Beta for the up and coming game by LittleBigPlanet’s Dev’s, Dreams, will be delayed until 2017 even though it was previously announced that it will be ready this year. SStudio director Siobhan Reddy confirmed this yesterday:
“It’s getting close to the end of 2016 and it’s time to let you all know that the beta trial for Dreams won’t be starting this year,” she said. “We are sorry for being a bit quiet of late and for disappointing people not being at PSX, but sometimes you have to just shut the doors, take the phone off the hook and hunker down and that’s exactly what we have been doing!”
“We don’t want you to have to squint through a haze of bugs or unfinished features, so we’re going to share our progress with you all in the New Year!” she added
Essentially she wants us to rather us wait than cut corners for this really “big” game and Personally I am fine with delays, I would rather play something that is a more accurate display of the end product than a game riddled with bugs and unfinished elements.
Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida previously described Dreams as “a next-gen creation platform” that has “much more” flexibility than LittleBigPlanet, from the sound of that I am even more prepared to wait.
