Overwatch has decked the halls of Hanamura and King’s Row, have loot boxes full of festive goodies, and a brand new brawl for players to enjoy in Winter Wonderland.
First off, all Loot Boxes have been give a holiday makeover. In the Winter Loot Boxes, there are over 100 new cosmetic trimmings that you can unwrap. Winter Loot Boxes can be earned or purchased and each will contain at least one item from the 2016 Winter Wonderland collection, including profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more. However, the collection is only available through January 2nd, when the event ends.
Mei’s Snowball Offensive is the new brawl for the winter update. Mei’s Snowball Offensive is a 6v6 single-elimination event featuring Mei, who has a few tricks up her sleeve to keep you on your toes. Mei’s Endothermic Blaster has been modified for a single, super-powered snowball shot. Taking down an enemy with this amped up attack only takes one hit.
Once your weapon is empty, you must search for the nearest snow pile to reload. Mei’s Ultimate is also available during the brawl, which turns her blaster into a semi-automatic snowball launcher, allowing continuous fire as your enemies flee from your wrath.
