Oddworld Abe's Oddysee is getting a HD remake, and it's more than just a texture pack.
The remake is being… well, remade, by UK-based studio Just Add Water, and is described by the series' creator Lorne Lanning as a "basically Abe's Oddysee being redone in a 3D physics engine as a 2D side-scrolling platformer."
Trying not to mess around with anything that worked for the original game, the new title is essentially the old game in a new coat of paint.
It's been in development for over a year now, having first been announced last year, and is expected to see release next Summer as a PlayStation Network title.
The game's official Facebook page has revealed its first ever screenshot, which appears to be in a widescreen ratio.
The game is looking groovy.
