A potential release date for Crackdown 3 has just been leaked via an Xbox Extra Life Stream on Twitch. The leak first gained the attention of NeoGAF user Chris1, who posted the clipped videos to the gaming forums.
Dave Johnson, the game’s art director is present along with executive producer Peter Connelly and design director Clint Bundrick. The conversation begins in response to a comment posted in the Twitch chat:
“Are we looking at holiday next year for Crackdown 3?
“Yep. Or earlier.”
“You guys are getting some exclusives here.”
“Somewhere marketing stress is going through the roof. Cut the feed! (laughs)”
A second video segment reveals that the game will also have 4K resolution support for Microsoft’s upcoming Project Scorpio console.
Crackdown 3 is the third game planned in the Crackdown series, but has experienced launch delays due to prolonged campaign development. The series is set in a dystopian city of the future and emulates the sandbox style gameplay from Grand Theft Auto, along with the third person shooting elements.
Crackdown 3 is expected to release in 2017 for Xbox One and PC.
