FIFA 13 is the 20th title in the long-running series of football games, and will be the first to feature renown footballer Lionel Messi on its cover.

FIFA 13 is more than just a yearly update to the series, and is slated to offer a host of upgrades including some new features for the game’s career mode.

As a manager, you’ll be given the opportunity to manage International teams as your reputation as a manager grows. Your performance and reputation, along with your nationality and the league your club plays in will dictate the type of offers you receive from International teams. You’ll have a heads up about the possibility to manage an International team months in advance through rumors which circulate in the game’s built-in press system delivered by Sky Sports. Through managing an International team, you’ll be responsible for selecting players for the squad. Just like in real life, International competitions will sometimes run in parallel to club games.

Managing a club isn’t the only thing you’ll be able to do in FIFA 13. You can even create your own personal player with a story to tell. As the player, you’ll be given objectives to complete from your manager. As you play, your character will accumulate experience and develop skills. You’ll even be able to transfer over to other teams. Once your player retires, you can turn him into a football manager.

FIFA 13 (titled FIFA Soccer 13 in North America) will be out for the PC, Mac OS X, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 in late September. The game will also be available for the Wii, Vita, 3DS, and various other platforms with slightly less features than the main versions. A version for the Wii U will also be launched upon the console’s release.
