In a recent, very tongue-in-cheek press release posted on the Marvel website, written in the voice of the goofball mercenary, Daniel Way was revealed to be on board as the writer of the upcoming game.
This is significant primarly because Way is also the author responsible for the currently ongoing comic book series.
Peter Della Penna, head of developer High Moon Studios (or now the "second in command," if you choose to believe what's in the press release), is farcically quoted as saying that Way was hired on pain of mutilation and death:
"We weren’t actually planning on making a Deadpool game…But, Deadpool came by the studio one day, said he was taking over, and that if I didn’t hire Marvel writer Daniel Way pronto and make the most amazing Deadpool video game, he’d break both of our arms and beat us to death with them. I have kids, so we’re making the game.”
If Way is this important to the merc himself, it's probably in our best interest to applaud the decision.
