Earlier this month we got the very first big reveal for Nintendo’s upcoming console. Originally given the codename Nintendo NX, the console will be officially released under the name Nintendo Switch and today new sources from Eurogamer has given out details regarding the console’s display.
Despite having a trailer reveal for the console, there are still plenty of details we would like answered for the Nintendo Switch. Fans have been breaking down the trailer reveal hoping to discover any features that were not highlighted within the actual video.
Today, Eurogamer has posted new details surrounding the Nintendo Switch display. According to Eurogamer, these details come from their sources so we have to take this information with a grain of salt until Nintendo officially gives out a statement.
Apparently, the Nintendo Switch holds a 6.2-inch display that will output a 720p resolution. Additionally, this display is, in fact, a touchscreen, offering gamers the ability to use this capacitive multi-touch screen for upcoming video game releases.
This is something that was not revealed initially for the console trailer. Likewise, the question of how the touchscreen features will work when the Nintendo Switch is safely tucked away in its dock. When questioned about this, the sources from Eurogamer claim that the controller will feature an IR sensor to use for their TV display.
Regardless, this information is not official and we’ll have to wait until Nintendo gives out further statements on the console which they will likely do in the coming months.
