Gears of War: Judgment Now Has a Release Date

July 13, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

You can expect to play Gears of War: Judgment early next year.

gears of war judgement

Epic Games announced the release date of Gears of War: Judgment before an audience at their San Diego Comic Con presentation. The developer says that the forthcoming prequel to the Gears of War series will be available exclusive to the Xbox 360 on March 19.

Gears of War: Judgment is being developed by Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly, with direction from Epic Games.

The game is set before the events of the first Gears of War, back when the war against the Locust only just began. In the prequel, players will take on the role of Baird and Cole instead of Marcus and the guy who whines about his wife throughout the entirety of the second game.

There's a good chance that they'll launch the marketing campaign for Judgment with the words "judgment day" somewhere in the mix. Given the state of advertising in the videogame industry, I'd bet the house on it.
