Destiny’s newest raid, Wrath of the Machine, is getting its Heroic Mode this week. For those who don’t play the game, Heroic Mode is basically a hard version of the existing raid, replete with new content and more difficult challenges.

Set to go live on Tuesday, October 18, the update will also bring the game up to version 2.4.1 to be released at 10am PT. However, raiders won’t be able to partake in the raid until 2pm, allowing them for some time to download the update.

In addition to the raid contents, gamers will be able to get 400 light level gear. It’s currently at 385. Accordingly, players will be able to attain more powerful gear from strike chests, Nightfall strikes, exotic engrams, Crucible matches and the game’s various events, including Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner. Items gleamed from these activities can reward players with 400 Light items.

Likewise, Heroic SIVA strikes and Archon’s Forge events will reward players with 385 Light gear. Regular SIVA strikes will give players 365 Light gear to make it easier to participate in the regular version of the raid.

Ghost Shells and Artifacts will also drop at 400 Light from now onwards when completing the Archon’s Forge challenges. Players will also have a higher chance of getting these items from Faction packages.

“For players forging their path through Wrath of the Machine, Trials of Osiris, and Iron Banner, these activities will now attempt to reward higher Light on average, compared to your current Light,” says Bungie.

One big change is that the Nightfall strikes will require a minimum Light of 380, up from 360.
