With Rainbow Moon's release looming over us like so much independence, developer eastasiasoft has delivered a launch trailer.
Although the font choice makes me massively uncomfortable, the trailer redeems itself by showing off quite a lot of detailed gameplay. It's a bold move by eastasiasoft, considering the trailer – promoting an RPG – contains absolutely no information about the plot. In the upper right corner of the HUD, you can see a countdown clock for in-game days like Holy Day, Beast Day, and Moon Day. It isn't discernable if these days change the combat style, type of enemies, or environments. Regardless, ever since playing Majora's Mask, I've always loved a good countdown.
This seems like it would be a perfect title for the PS Vita, but as it stands, Rainbow Moon will only be released to the PlayStation 3. That doesn't close down the option for eastasiasoft to make a move to the Sony handheld in the future, but no port plans have been announced.
Rainbow Moon has already seen a release in Europe and will land stateside on July 10th retailing for $15 on the PlayStation Network.
