Fan Makes A Super Mario 64 Sequel

October 6, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

Check out Super Mario 64: Last Impact.

When it comes to fan-made video games, there could be some tricky legal issues that come into play. There have been plenty of great video game titles in the works which were only completely shot down from the owners of a particular intellectual property. Today we’re learning of a Super Mario 64 fan-made sequel that as of the time of writing this post, has yet to be removed online.

As mentioned, there are plenty of great video game titles in the works from fans who decided to remake, reboot, or take on their own spin of a series installment. A number of these fantastic video game projects have been closed from IP owners sending out legal takedowns. Nintendo has been notorious for killing off fan projects, after all, the company has even found issues with gamers who post gameplay of their IPs online.

One fan, known as Kaze Emanuar, had made an unofficial sequel to Super Mario 64, according to DSOGaming. The video game is known as Super Mario 64: Last Impact and it’s essentially a hack for Super Mario 64. Overall, gamers will find that this fan-made sequel will include 130 stars, 12 powerups, new bosses, along with completely new and unique levels.

With over four thousand hours spent into the project, we’re thrilled to see that the game released before it was noticed by Nintendo. However, it’s quite possible that the company will be getting ready to send out a C&D letter. Take a look at the video trailer for the video game posted above to see Super Mario 64: Last Impact in action.
