Necropolis: Brutal Edition Is Now Out on Consoles Today

October 4, 2016 by Kris Kittie

Survive alone or with up to 3 other friends in a magical deathtrap where no playthroughs are the same.

Leading interactive publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has released NECROPOLIS for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 systems in the US today. Players on consoles can now craft, equip, explore, and and fight to stay alive as they delve deeper through twisting halls and endless caverns. Although you may die (a lot), you’ll improve your dungeon smarts with each playthrough.

NECROPOLIS is a 4-player co-op 3D action roguelike created by Harebrained Schemes, the indie studio behind the beloved Shadowrun Series. The game combines third person action with roguelike dungeon-crawling for a game that is both fast-paced and addictive. Adventure alone or with up to 3 friends in a “magical deathtrap” that reconstructs itself each time you play.

“NECROPOLIS brings the pain to consoles with a wickedly fun and an easy to learn, but tough to master campaign through an always evolving dungeon,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “Being able to team up with up-to three other friends for a cooperative adventure introduces a whole extra layer of exploration and excitement where death can occur around any corner.”

The console editions of NECROPOLIS feature everything players want from a “permadeath diabolical dungeon delve”. There are two bold adventures to choose from (the nimble Blackguard and sturdy Brute), deadly environments to explore, bizarre creatures to fight, and lots of loot to collect, including gems, weapons, armor sets, potions, scrolls and more. With 4-player co-op, friends can revive each other as they go deeper into the depths.
