“Forever Alone” Plot Thickens, Original Creator Claims Team Meat “Victim” is a Fraud

May 10, 2012 by Dave Oshry

Someone purporting to be the real creator of the Forever Alone meme speaks out against the claim made by Dominic Vanner.

Forever Alone in Super Meat Boy

Earlier today we reported that a person named Dominic Vanner, who apparently owned the copyright to the "Forever Alone" meme, was claiming that Team Meat had infringed upon said copyright by using his meme in their game Super Meat Boy.

However, we were recently contacted by one Brandon Newton, who put Vanner's claim into dispute. He had this to say:

Dominic Vanner is a fraud who does not actually hold the copyright to the Forever Alone meme.

I, Brandon Newton, am the original artist.

He shared the following side-by-side comparison image with Gameranx to back his claim:

The plot thickens! Who is the true creator of the Forever Alone meme? Whatever the answer, we doubt Team Meat cares, but it certainly weakens Vanner's claim on the copyright.
