Sony is preparing to release their next major update for the PlayStation 4. This upcoming 4.0 update is still pretty tight lipped on what all it will bring to the table, but if you’re interested in testing the update out for Sony, you can sign up for access to the beta.
Thanks to a post from the official PlayStation blog, Sony is seeking out more beta testers for their upcoming PlayStation 4 firmware 4.0 update. These gamers will get an advance look at the various new features and improvements made for the PlayStation 4 console, however, what these new upcoming features will have yet to be revealed.
“As you may recall, we ran betas for the PS4’s 3.00 and 3.50 system software updates. Participants got to see all kinds of upcoming features before they were officially rolled out, like Events, Communities, and more.
If you’re part of the program, you’ll receive an email with instructions on downloading the beta version of the next system software. In order to sign up, you’ll need a PS4 with an internet connection, and access to a Master Account. And remember — you can roll back to the previous system software, version 3.55, at any time.”
This signup doesn’t guarantee you a spot as a beta test as Sony will be selecting which gamers will have access to the upcoming 4.0 update early. If you are selected, Sony does ask the beta testers to use the official PlayStation Forums in order to discuss the various updates.
Luckily, we’ll know more about what features will be coming with the 4.0 update in early August, but for now, those interested in signing up for the beta can do so here.
