See Your Space Headquarters in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

July 22, 2016 by Nick Monroe

Infinity Ward shows a mastery of space simulator immersion in a new video, taking you on a tour of your ship HQ.

InfiniteWarfareUNSARetributionFlightDeckHeaderLove it or hate it, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases in November. As we know from previous announcements, a sizeable part of the game takes place in space. That means there’s spaceships – big ones, that’ll be shooting at each other during whatever imaginary war is going on here. As the protagonist, you’ll get a militarized space vessel of your own. It functions as your base of operations, and during Infinite Warfare it will change and evolve with you.

So stop on by the UNSA Retribution Flight Deck. Your new headquarters.

As the central hub, players will prep and deploy here for missions, and then return back afterwards. You’ll journey through the game’s main storyline, and have the ability to take on optional side missions to get upgrades. To still try and maintain a sense of realism, your ship’s flight deck resembles military air carriers from reality as much as possible. It’s filled with crew people running about, doing their duty to keep things in working order as the chaos of war unfolds out in the void of space. There’s a bunch of small details put into the look of the UNSA Retribution, in order to sell you on the idea that the game’s world is believable.

The level of immersion and fidelity on display here should be considered the new standard for video games. With Star Citizen’s Squadron 42 still apparently coming out in 2016, it’ll be inevitable that people compare both games.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare comes out November 4th of this year for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Alongside that is the highly anticipated Modern Warfare remaster. To learn about both of these games, check out the website, Twitter, and Facebook.
