Despite the fact that there are imitation consoles already on the market (like the Retron 5), Nintendo has decided to enter the Classic Reselling sector of video games with a product of their own.
The Nintendo Classic Mini. It came as a surprise to many when it was announced earlier today. You can plug this thing into your TV with HDMI cables, and it comes with an NES controller pad that’s just like you remember from the old days. But if you want, you can use a Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro too.
“We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo’s original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place,” said Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime. “The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers.”
It comes with 30 games: Balloon Fight, BUBBLE BOBBLE, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, FINAL FANTASY, Galaga, GHOSTS’N GOBLINS, GRADIUS, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Kirby’s Adventure, Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Metroid, NINJA GAIDEN, PAC-MAN, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, StarTropics, SUPER C, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, TECMO BOWL, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
The NES Classic Mini arrives on November 11th for $59.99.
