We haven’t heard much about Starcraft II’s expansion pack Heart of the Swarm ever since Blizzard started ramping up their promotions for Diablo III, which is finally coming out in less than a month.
That said, the game’s development is certainly not in limbo, and Blizzard plans to show it off this June with the announcement that it’ll be playable as a demo at MLG’s Pro Circuit Spring Championship event. The pro-gaming event is set to offer a number of demo stations containing the latest multiplayer version of Heart of the Swarm.
Professionals across the United States will participate in the Championship’s Starcraft II tournament, with up to $30,000 in prize money up for grabs. It will run from June 8 to 10 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. You can participate as a spectator by applying for a pass here and experience the new Heart of the Swarm demo in person.
In addition to the game’s all new single player campaign which focuses on Kerrigan and her return to humanity, the game will also feature some new additions to multiplayer, the details of which have yet to be disclosed.
Heart of the Swarm is the second in title in the Starcraft II trilogy. It does not yet have a release date.
