Free Portal 2 DLC With Map Editor Confirmed

April 26, 2012 by Andrew Kent

GLaDOS seems to be handing the wheel over to the testers this time around.

Hello and welcome to the Aperture Science daily news post that isn’t really daily but I said that just so you have think I care about giving you news daily.

Valve Corporation is coming out with new downloadable content for Portal 2 which will give test subjects a chance to create test chambers of their own. I don’t see how humans can do much better than me, an all powerful A.I., however it gives me time to catch up on plotting…I mean thinking about what to do next to help aid all of these humans that are now able to do their duty as test subjects.

Oh? You need a name for this “map creator”? Humans, always needing some sort of fancy wording to satisfy their incompetent brains. Valve has taken this into account and have dubbed this new map creator the “Perpetual Testing Iniative”. It’s perpetual because I don’t want you gone so you’ll be making testing chambers for the rest of your sad little life. That would be funny, if you weren’t human. The Perpetual Testing Initiative will only work on your PC so XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3 users will be stuck testing the same levels that I’ve already created for Portal 2 over…and over again. Oh joy.

Valve has also said that some of the test chambers you create will be bundle into the game though. So XBOX and PlayStation test subjects may get a chance to get seriously wounded…I mean test their mettle against the machinations of other test subjects. Good luck.
