Nintendo Didn’t Reveal Any NX Details Due To Possible Imitators

More information released on the E3 NX no show.

We’ve been eagerly awaiting more news and confirmations from the Nintendo company about their upcoming console code named the Nintendo NX. For now, little information has been confirmed for the device, though as we press on, we’re learning more reasons as to why the console was a complete no show during this year’s E3 event.

Arguably the biggest event for the video game industry is E3 and every year we get news of big video game announcements, updates, and even hardware reveals. However, while may speculate that Nintendo would give some kind of insight about the upcoming NX console, the company has kept their mouth firmly shut.

Recently, we posted news that the Nintendo kept the NX secretive during E3 simply because they were testing out a new idea for the console. Now, after a recent shareholders meeting that was tweeted out by a member present, which was later translated by Twitter user Cheesemeister3k, we’re finding out another main reason the NX was not detailed during the event.

.@NStyles Miyamoto: Normally we would’ve shown the #NX at #E3, but we didn’t. We’re worried about imitators if we release info too early.

During the shareholders meeting, Shigeru Miyamoto discussed that the NX would have been shown off at E3 but was decided to withhold the device because of possible imitators. By revealing the device too early, there was a chance that other companies, such as Microsoft and Sony, would take key aspects of the Nintendo NX and later use it for their console releases.

For now, it doesn’t appear that Nintendo has too much of an interest with virtual reality with reports in the past of key members stating that the pricing and long play sessions proved to be problematic. This trend, however, is being followed by their competition, leaving us wondering just what Nintendo is preparing for their console next.
