Mighty No. 9’s 11 Platform Launch Faces Numerous Issues

Xbox 360, Mac, Linux versions delayed at last minute, joining the delayed 3DS and Vita versions. The six platforms that made it to launch have other technical issues as well.

MightyNo9GlitchGiven the rocky road and delays this game had on it’s way to launch, there’s an initial wave of relief when Mighty No. 9‘s developers finally announced the game had a set arrival date of June 21st.

That’s today. Only three hours into the day on the East Coast of the United States here, and already the launch of Mighty No. 9 is facing numerous problems.

PC: The Mighty No. 9 Steam release has DLC issues, where you get two retro hero DLC codes – one extra mistakenly taking the place of the Ray DLC (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). This was also the default platform that the Kickstarter booted backers to in the last survey before the game’s launch, if the backer failed to respond. Instead of keeping the last recorded option, everyone was defaulted to Steam codes unless they stated otherwise in that one survey.

According to two people, their download of the game was blocked by an Anti-virus program.

Mac/Linux: According to a recent post on the website, the Mac and Linux builds of the game are in the final testing phases at Deep Silver.

Xbox One: Performance issues, alongside with the PS4 version. (1)

Xbox 360: That same news post from the official website says that the Xbox 360 version had a last minute “certification bug” that’s expected to delay the release of that version of the game for several days.

PS4/PS3: The Playstation Network codes are reportedly not working for numerous people, stating that they’re “invalid” (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10). This is (probably) a result of the Playstation Store not updating yet.

Wii U: An early report of the Wii U version detail long loading times, gameplay lag, and other framerate issues.

3DS/Vita: If you didn’t get the earlier memo, Keiji Inafune stated that this version of the game will “follow at a later point”.

NVIDIA Shield: Unknown to many people, there’s apparently a NVIDIA shield version of Mighty No. 9, according to at least one report.

Other concerns surrounding the game’s launch include the last minute availability of the game to the original Kickstarter backers, who seemed to have gotten their codes at the same time Mighty No. 9 was made available to the general public.

Mighty No. 9 is now available digitally in Japan. No backer codes.
