June 10, 2016 by Nicole Carpenter

The multiplayer update is scheduled for today, with a game update coming later this month.

A multiplayer improvement update is coming to Doom. It’s expected to balance some weapons—including the chaingun, rocket launcher, and combat shotgun—as well as reduce wait lines between matches.

In a post on the Bethesda blog, the publisher noted the multiplayer improvement patch will not require a download.

Additionally, Bethesda has updated its Clan Arena and Freeze Tag game modes, now requiring teams to complete five rounds to win a match.

The next game update for Doom was also detailed. Bethesda will release the patch notes “later this month,” but summed the contents up for eager players. Along with fixing “various bugs” Bethesda expects to add a photo mode for taking in-game screenshots. Classic Doom weapon placement/view model option will also be added.

Doom’s next game update will arrive “later this month.”

“These are just a few of the improvements and fixes coming later this month, but we wanted to provide an update as soon as we could,” the publisher wrote. “Thank you all for your continued support. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback.”
