After weeks of uproar and hundreds of posts from irate fans on the game's official message boards, BioWare has announced that they'll finally be fixing one of Mass Effect 3's biggest shortcomings: the face import bug.
Yep, that bug that prevented players from importing the custom appearances from their Mass Effect 2 saves will finally be gone with the release of the next patch. And it's a good thing, too, as some outraged fans have gone so far as to claim that the face import bug ruined the entire franchise for them.
Unfortunately, there's no word on when we can expect the patch to go live, since it still needs to be tested and certified
"We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing)," community coordinator Chris Priestly explained in a post on the BioWare forums. "If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing."
In the meantime, BioWare has provided a workaround for those experiencing the problem in the PC version of the game.
