The newly incorporated Skydance Corp. has revealed their plans for their video game divisions.

With the regulatory roadblocks cleared, Paramount and Warner Bros. is finally closing their planned merger.
Subsequently, Paramount’s gaming division, which was only established last year, is being merged with WB Games. That means video game franchises like Star Trek, Harry Potter, Spongebob Squarepants, Mortal Kombat, etc. now all fall under the same division.
Most management are being picked out from Paramount Games, with Tony Driscoll leading the new unified gaming division.
We still don’t know for now if this merger will lead to layoffs, closed game studios, or cancelled games in this division. On the flip side, there are opportunities for new games and franchises that can come out of this.
It’s certainly strange to think about how the next Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl could bring in characters from Multiversus. But then again, Skydance could set Rocksteady Studios to making that Mission: Impossible game we want. So we’ll just have to see how all of this plays out.
