Square Enix has shadow dropped a key part of Final Fantasy VII to the Switch 2.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is shadow dropping on the console today. In the same way that the original Crisis Core is a prequel to Final Fantasy VII, this game is also set before the events of the main title.
Square Enix shared this description on social media:
CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION is a remaster of the original CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII–, featuring a complete HD graphics overhaul, a remastered soundtrack, a reimagined UI, and an updated combat system.
This remake originally released on the Switch alongside other platforms in 2022. Unfortunately, Square Enix likely did not include an upgrade path if you have the Switch version.
Nonetheless, if you’re getting into the Final Fantasy VII trilogy, you’ll want to play this first to get the full story on Zack Fair and everything that happened before.
