Sony has rushed to confirm their next State of Play.
In a first for their events, they are hosting back-to-back State of Plays from the US, followed by Japan. The broadcast starts at 6 AM PT.
The US State of Play will focus on games from PlayStation Studios and some 3rd parties. It will include an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
The Japanese State of Play will be hosted by the voice of Eren Yeager, Yuki Kaji. This show will focus on upcoming games from Japanese and Asian game studios.
It’s an unusual arrangement, but we already know where PlayStation Studios’ projects are at the moment. So this setup may be intended to put a spotlight on games from Asia, and Sony is getting enough games from China and Korea to provide that treatment.
While PlayStation’s Japan Studio has been defunct for five years, they could also be showing the next game from Team Asobi.
In either case, Sony didn’t even let Nate The Hate finish confirming the rumor before making it reality. We’re sure he doesn’t mind.
