A modder managed to pull off some impressive hacking tricks on their PlayStation 5.

Andy Nguyen shared the news on Twitter:
I ported Linux to the PS5 and turned it into a Steam Machine. Running GTA 5 Enhanced with Ray Tracing.
- 4K HDMI Video + Audio
- All USB ports
Currently running at 3.2 GHz CPU & 2.0 GHz GPU. It can be boosted to 3.5 GHz CPU and 2.23 Ghz GPU, but my PS5 slim model overheats too quickly.
Nguyen also revealed he wrote the code on a PS5, but it only works on consoles on older firmwares.
Sony and AMD probably already know they could unlock this performance, but doing so would raise the failrate on the console.
Sony already deployed an upgraded PSSR to the PS5 Pro weeks ago. Sony gamers can probably get performance this good – without bricking their consoles – as soon as they get around to supporting GTA V.
